Self care in the pandemic

I am hoping everyone is finding time during this unprecedented pandemic  for your self care! Truly, take some time now if you haven't!!!

self care, a funny subject... some people would say that self care is selfish. Those same people may think the pandemic is a hoax... lets just leave it at we disagree, and that is ok. Taking care of our mental, physical ,emotional and spiritual well being is the baseline for a healthy life in my experience.

Whatever it is that helps you grow, fuels the fulfillment inside and cares for your physical body is all good in my book!

The majority of my adult life I have worked in the service industry as a luxury to some, and a must for others.  I feel like this subject is underrated and somewhat misunderstood. Self care is soothing and revitalizing all at once!🙌

I've worked either as a massage therapist or Esthetician with a lot of people over the years.  The one obvious insight in my experience is people get overwhelmed and caught up in the business of life to our detriment at times. We all do.

There is a common denominator.
The self care is mostly non existent in the daily grind

I'm here to say that taking time out for your health and peace of mind is ESSENTIAL☺️and with that in mind I find a positive aspect of this situation!

I felt a need to write this because we are currently all under stress from this pandemic. We have never endured a stay at home order, complete chaos of opinions or the shear stress of seeing someone walking towards us on a trail wondering how to avoid each other. Oh and now we must wear masks! 😷I sat in a parking lot today and watched about 50 masked people wandering around in an outdoor garden store thinking,  wow so here we are the new reality, feels like the twilight zone. Honestly, you can relate, I know it!

So bottom line, end of the day is this: We do not need to live in fear. We can actually take the downtime to recharge in a way. We need to live in respect and honor of ourselves and others. If it feels best for you to sit at home and read, do it! If you love to workout, train hard 🙌you want to volunteer and shop for the elderly, awesome! If you want to throw on a soothing skin care mask, sit in a bubble bath with all your candles lit. and a glass of wine....DO IT! We will most likely never have this down time again☝🏻We will come through this stronger, more in tune with our strengths and weaknesses, and no doubt with a much greater appreciation for each other.

In love and patience,

Kathleen
